Through her study of children, Dr. Maria Montessori made many discoveries that led her to develop and refine the Montessori approach to learning. We base our program upon these principles.
Children pass through sensitive periods of learning that enable them to absorb specific kinds of knowledge more rapidly than at any other time in their lives.
Children require a highly interactive, hands-on educational environment to become self-motivated and successful learners.
Children are motivated to learn through their imaginations and critical thinking abilities. Each child’s path to educational success is unique.
Since most parents were educated in traditional classrooms and schools, parents who choose to send their child to a Montessori school must be willing to learn along with the child. Parents must be willing to invest time in understanding Montessori philosophy and how things are done in a Montessori classroom. Parents must also be willing to learn how to discipline and guide children in a way that works in harmony of the school and promotes the development of the Portrait of a Graduate attributes.
